Urban Dynamics: Data and Images

Temporal Urban Mapping - Database Visualization

Visualization techniques are divided into five categories: two dimensional x-y plots, three dimensional x-y-z plots, two dimensional planimetric views, three dimensional perspective views, and animation. The technique chosen depends on the type of data that is available, the information being conveyed, and whether the technique depicts the data in a useful way. Since a variety of data types are collected for temporal urban mapping, all of these techniques will eventually be used to illustrate different variables, rates of change, spatial patterns and interrelationships.
